JESUS DESERVES ALL THE GLORY

John 17:1-26

Truth: Jesus prayed for glory to glorify the Father. Jesus prayed the disciples would glorify Him. Jesus prayed that the church would glorify Him today. Does your life give glory to God?

I. JESUS PRAYED FOR GLORY TO GLORIFY THE FATHER

1. Jesus prayed for us as He prayed for Himself. John 17:1
2. Jesus received power to give eternal life to all flesh that know Him through the cross. John 17:2-4
3. Jesus had glory with the Father before the world was. John 17:5

II. JESUS PRAYED THE DISCIPLES WOULD GLORIFY HIM

1. Jesus manifest the Name and Word of God to the disciples and they received and believed Jesus came from God. John 17:6-9
2. Jesus prayed that the disciples would be kept by God’s power. John 17:10-12
3. Jesus gave us His word to keep us from being like the world and to protect us from the evil one. John 17:13-16
4. Jesus sets us apart by His truth just as He set Himself apart by His truth.

III. JESUS PRAYED THAT THE CHURCH WOULD GLORIFY HIM

1. Jesus prayed for future believers to have His glory and unity. John 17:20- 23
2. Jesus prayed that one day we would be with Him. John 17:24
3. Jesus prayed the love He had for the Father would be in us. John 17:25-26
