LORD SEND US REVIVAL

Acts 10:44-48

Truth: Revival comes when God’s people pray. Revival comes when the Holy Sprit comes. Revival comes and brings transformation to our lives. Will you pray for revival?

I. REVIVAL COMES WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE PRAY

  1. When there is spiritual and moral decline God puts a longing in our hearts for intense prayer. 2 Chron 7:14. Acts 10:4, Acts 4:31
  2. The preached Word brings deep conviction and a desire for Christ. Acts 2:37-38; Acts 10:34-43

II. REVIVAL COMES WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES

  1. The Holy Spirit convicts so deeply that only Christ can bring relief. Acts 10:44-45; Gal 3:22
  2. The Holy Spirit revives the backslidden. Psa 51:10-13
  3. God receives glory for the salvation of sinners and the reviving of the saints. Acts 10:46, Acts 8:39

III. REVIVAL BRINGS TRANSFORMATION TO ALL

  1. Sinners are saved join the church and live for God. Acts 10:47-48. Acts 2:47
  2. Christians forsake their sins and return to fellowship and service to Christ and His church.
  3. The church has a positive effect on society.

WHY AND HOW WE MUST BE SAVED?

Romans 5:12-21

Truth: We must be saved because of sin. We can be saved because Jesus died for our sins. We are saved when we repent of our sin and have faith in Jesus Christ! Have you been saved?

I. WE MUST BE SAVED BECAUSE OF SIN

  1. Adam brought sin into the world. Rom 5:12, Gen 2:15-17; Gen 3:6
  2. Sin brought death to all mankind. Rom 5:12, 1 Cor 15:21- 22, Gen 3:17-19
  3. Death is the only payment for sin. Rom 6:23, Vs. 13-18

II. WE CAN BE SAVED BECAUSE CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS

  1. Jesus Christ died for the sins of Adam and all mankind. Rom 5:18, Heb 2:9, 1 John 2:2
  2. Jesus Christ died for our sins because He was sinless. Rom 5:17-19; Phil 2:8-11; 2 Cor 5:21
  3. Jesus Christ is our only hope to be saved. Rom 5:20-21;1 Tim 2:3-6

III. WE ARE SAVED ONCE WE REPENT AND BELIEVE ON CHRIST

  1. It is the goodness of God that leads one to repentance. Rom 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 11:18; Acts 5:31
  2. We are saved by grace through faith. Eph 2:8, Acts 16:30-31
  3. When that are saved have eternal life. Rom 5:21; John 6:47

Truth: A disciple of Jesus knows Jesus. A disciple of Jesus knows all about Jesus. A disciple of Jesus knows how to live for Jesus. Are you a disciple of Christ?

I. A DISCIPLE OF JESUS KNOWS JESUS

  1. A disciple of Jesus knows when they were lost. Matt 5:2-5
  2. A disciple of Jesus knows they need to repent of their sins and put their faith in the Lord Jesus for salvation. Matt 3:2, Matt 4:17; Acts 2:38; Acts 20:21
  3. A disciple of Jesus knows they have been saved. Matt 5:6; Rom 5:5; 1 Tim 1:12

II. A DISCIPLE OF JESUS KNOWS ALL ABOUT JESUS

  1. A disciple knows the Word of Christ. Matt 5:13, John 8:31-32
  2. A disciple knows the will of God. Matt 5:14-16, 1 Thess 5:18
  3. A disciple knows the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Matt 5:6, John 14:26

III. A DISCIPLE OF JESUS KNOWS HOW TO LIVE FOR JESUS

  1. Disciples of Christ are the salt of the earth. Matt 5:13, James 1:27
  2. Disciples of Christ are the light of the world. Matt 5:16,1 Peter 2:12
  3. Disciples of Christ are righteous in Christ! Matt 5:20, Rom 10:3-4

Only By The Grace Of God

ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD

Titus 2:11-3:1

Truth: The grace of God provided salvation. The grace of God is a gift. The grace of God enables us. Are you saved and serving by God’s grace?

I. THE GRACE OF GOD PROVIDED SALVATION

  1. The gospel message is the good news of God’s grace. Titus 2:11, John 1:17
  2. To understand grace, we need to consider who we are without Christ. Psa 51:5, Rom 3:9-10,23; 5:6,10; 6:23
  3. Who we are with Christ. Saved by grace. Eph 2:8, serve by grace. Acts 20:24, James 4:6, Rom 15:15, 1 Cor 3:10, Eph 3:2,7

II. THE GRACE OF GOD IS A GIFT

  1. God’s grace is a gift, nothing owed in return. Eph 2:8
  2. There is no cost to the recipient, great cost to the giver. 2 Cor 8:9
  3. The gift of God’s grace is permanent, ours forever. Eph 4:30
  4. The gift of grace is completely unmerited. 2 Tim 1:9

III. THE GRACE OF GOD ENABLES US

  1. By grace We can approach Him. Titus 2:14, Heb 4:16
  2. By grace We can learn of HIM. Titus 2:12, Mat 11:29
  3. By grace We can serve HIM. Titus 2:15, 1 Cor 15:10

Truth: We share that you must be saved. We share you must believe in Jesus to be saved. We share you will know when you are saved. Do you share with others how to be saved?

I. WE SHARE YOU MUST BE SAVED OR BORN AGAIN

  1. Everyone is born a sinner and must be born again. John 3:1-7. Rom 3:10,23, Gal 3:22
  2. The saved share the Word of God in the Spirit of God. John 3:7, Matt 28:18, 1 Cor 2:4-5
  3. The saved understand the work of the Spirit in us. John 3:8-13. 1 Cor 2:9-11, Rom 8:16,14, Eph 1:12-14

II. WE SHARE YOU MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS TO BE SAVED

  1. Jesus and the cross must be shared. John 3:14, 1 Cor 1:18, John 12:32
  2. God’s love for the world must be shared. John 3:16,17, Rom 5:8, 1 John 4:9
  3. Jesus as your personal Savoir much be believed. John 3:15, 18, Rom 10:8-13. You must call on the Lord Jesus

III. WE SHARE YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU ARE SAVED

  1. The unsaved are condemned and know it. John 3:18-20. Acts 2:37, Acts 9:5, Psa 116:3
  2. The saved no longer feel condemned and apart from God. John 3:21, Rom 5:1-5, 1 Peter 1:8-9

Truth: The terrible spiritual condition of the unsaved person. What God did on behalf of sinners to save them. Are you alive in Christ?

I. THE TERRIBLE SPIRITUAL CONDITION OF THE UNSAVED

  1. The unsaved are dead in their trespasses and sins. Eph 2:1, Rom 6:23, Isa 59:2,1 Tim 5:6. Death means separation in Scriptures.
  2. The unsaved are disobedient. The world wants us to reform. Eph 2:2-3a, Rom 12:2, the devil lies to us, Eph 6:11-12, the flesh or fallen nature is ruled by lust. James 1:15
  3. The unsaved are depraved. Eph 2:3b, Rom 3:23
  4. The unsaved are doomed. Eph 2:3c, John 3:18, John 3:36

II. WHAT GOD DID ON BEHALF OF SINNERS TO SAVE THEM

  1. God expressed His to us love by mercy and grace by Jesus at Calvary. Eph 2:4, Rom 5:8, John 3:16
  2.  God quickens or makes us alive together with Christ. Eph 2:5, Heb 4:12, John 5:24, Eph 1:19-20, Rom 8:11
  3. God exalts us. Eph 2:6, Rom 8:17
  4. God keeps us. Eph 2:7-9, 1 Peter 1:5, John 10: 27-28

Truth: True prayer speaks to God in His language. Prayer changes things. True Prayer brings power into our lives. Does your prayer change things?

I. TRUE PRAYER SPEAKS TO GOD IN HIS LANGUAGE

  1. Jesus prayed to God the Father and taught His disciples to pray. Luke 11:1- 2, Matt 6:9
  2. True prayer depends on a spiritual relationship with God that enables us to call Him “Father,” and this can come only through faith in Jesus Christ. Luke 11:2, Rom 8:14-17
  3. True Prayer always includes the will of God. Luke 11:2, John 6:38, Matt 26:39

II. TRUE PRAYER BRINGS CHANGE

  1. Prayer reminds us God provides our daily needs. Luke 11:3, James 1:17, Phil 4:19
  2. Prayer brings forgiveness for our sins. Luke 11:4, 1 John 1:9, Psa 51:10, 12
  3. Prayer brings leadership for our daily walk. Luke 11:4, Psa 119:105, John 16:13
  4. Prayer reminds me to consistently seek God’s help. Luke 11:5-8

III. TRUE PRAYER BRINGS POWER INTO OUR LIVES

  1. Keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking, God will answer your prayer. Luke 11:9-10, John 15:7, 1 John 3:22
  2. God our Father wants to empower our lives to work out His will. Luke 11:11-13, John 14:21, Acts 1:8, Heb 4:12

I. GOD CREATED ALL THINGS PERFECT

  2. God the creator is the Father, the Word (Son) and the Spirit of God. John 1:1-4, John 17:5, Gen 1:2
  3. God the creator said it was very good. Gen 1:31, Acts 17:25-26

II. MAN SINNED AGAINST GOD

  1. God made us all from one man. Acts 17:25-26, Gen 2:7

  3. God now commands all men to repent. Acts 17:30, 2 Cor 7:10

III. GOD BROUGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS THROUGH JESUS

Truth: God made Abraham a promise. Abraham’s greatest need was righteousness. Abraham believed and was counted righteous. Have you believed God’s promise to you?

I. GOD MADE ABRAHAM A PROMISE

  1. The Word of the Lord came to Abraham and said fear not I Am your shield and great reward. Genesis 15:1, Rom 10:17
  2. God told Abraham that all nations would be blessed in him. Genesis 15:2-5, Gen 12:1-3, John 1:11-12, 3:16

II. ABRAHAM’S GREATEST NEED WAS RIGHTEOUSNESS

III. ABRAHAM BELIEVED AND WAS COUNTED RIGHTEOUS

  1. Abraham believed God, the Hebrew word translated “believed” means “to lean your whole weight upon.” Abraham leaned wholly on the promise of God and the God of the
