  2. Jesus was man and God. Matt. 1:23
  3. Jesus came to save His people. Matt 1:21

II. JESUS CAME TO FULFILL THE LAW Matt 5:17-18; Rom 10:4

  1. Jesus always honored God the Father. John 6:38; Matt 26:39; John 4:23
  2. Jesus honored His mother and earthly father. Luke 2:51
  3. Jesus never killed or thought wrongly about any women, or stole, or lied. Heb 4:15; 2 Cor 5:21
  4. Jesus never coveted another mans things. Matt 8:20

III. JESUS CAME TO DIED FOR OUR SINS

  1. Jesus died the cruel death of the cross without hesitation.
  2. Jesus died for our sins. 1 Cor 15:3; 1 John 3:4-5
  3. Jesus died and rose again to bring salvation to us. John 14:6; Act 4:12; 2 Cor 2:18
  4. Jesus died to save all who believe in Him. 1 Tim 1:15; John 3:16-18

Truth: Jesus invites all to be His chosen. Jesus invites all, but not all are chosen. Jesus invites all to be chosen, but you must choose Him. Have you been chosen by Jesus?

I. JESUS INVITES ALL TO BE HIS CHOSEN

  1. The nation of Israel where God’s chosen. Matt 22:1-3. Deut 14:2; John 1:11-13
  2. The invitation to be one of God’s chosen is given to all. Matt 22:4,9, Rom 10:13; John 3:16; Matt 11:28
  3. The Gospel message is to the world! Matt 28:19

II. NOT ALL ARE CHOSEN

  1. The nation of Israel rejected Christ. Matt 22:3,4-8. Matt 23:37-39
  2. All who reject Christ will not be chosen. Matt 22:11, 14; Acts 4:12; Matt 7:21-23

III. TO BE CHOSEN, YOU MUST CHOOSE HIM

  1. The Lord chooses from the bad and the good. Matt 22:10; Acts 10:34. Rom 2:11
  2. You choose Christ by seeking forgiveness of your sins. Acts 16:30; Acts 2:37
  3. You choose Christ by faith through His grace. Rom 4:16; Gal 3:22
  4. When you surrender to Him, Christ gives you Salvation and you become one of His chosen. 2 Thess 2:13; James 2:5; 1 Peter 2:9; Rev 17:14

Our Great Salvation

OUR GREAT SALVATION

Truth: We have been saved from condemnation as sinners and granted salvation as the children of God. We are being saved through the process of daily sanctification. We will be saved from physical death to eternal life in heaven. Are you neglecting your salvation?

I. WE ARE SAVED FROM CONDEMNATION AS SINNERS AND GRANTED SALVATION AS CHILDREN OF GOD

  1. The saved are no longer condemned. John 3:16-18; Rom 8:1
  2. Salvation is received the moment you repent of your sins and trust in the Lord Jesus. Rom 8:16, Eph 1:13-14
  3. Our great salvation is kept by God’s power. 1 Peter 1:5; Eph 4:30

II. WE ARE BEING SAVED THROUGH THE PROCESS OF DAILY SANCTIFICATION

  1. There is a continual process of living a holy life for Christ. Eph 4:22-24; Rom 6:4
  2. Believers are to live as the holy person they are. 2 Cor 5:17-18; Rom 12:2

III. WE WILL BE SAVED FROM PHYSICAL DEATH TO ETERNAL LIFE

  1. The Saint goes to be with the Lord at physical death. 2 Cor 5:8
  2. The Saint will have a glorified body like Christ one day. 1 John 3:2; 1 Cor 15:51-58

II. WE HAVE A VALUABLE TREASURE

  1. God places His treasure in our earthly vessel. 2 Cor 4:7; 1 Cor 2:5
  2. We are to focus on the treasure and not the vessel. 2 Cor 4:8-10; Col 1:27
  3. We are to focus on the Master and not on the servant. 2 Cor 4:11-12; Phil 3:10

III. WE HAVE A CONFIDENT FAITH

  1. We are sure of victory in Christ. 2 Cor 4:14
  2. We are sure God will receive glory. 2 Cor 4:15
  3. We are sure our trials will grow our faith. 2 Cor 4:16-17; 1 Peter 1:7
  4. We are sure that invisible world is real and eternal. 2 Cor 4:18

IV. WE HAVE A FUTURE HOPE

  1. We know we have a home in heaven. 2 Cor 5:1; John 14:3
  2. We groan for our heavenly home. 2 Cor 5:2-5; 1 Cor 15:53
  3. We are always confident that when we leave this body we will be with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:6-8. Luke 23:43

Romans 5:12-21

Truth: We must be saved because of sin. We can be saved because Jesus died for our sins. We are saved when we repent of our sin and have faith in Jesus Christ! Have you been saved?

I. WE MUST BE SAVED BECAUSE OF SIN

  1. Adam brought sin into the world. Rom 5:12, Gen 2:15-17; Gen 3:6
  2. Sin brought death to all mankind. Rom 5:12, 1 Cor 15:21- 22, Gen 3:17-19
  3. Death is the only payment for sin. Rom 6:23, Vs. 13-18

II. WE CAN BE SAVED BECAUSE CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS

  1. Jesus Christ died for the sins of Adam and all mankind. Rom 5:18, Heb 2:9, 1 John 2:2
  2. Jesus Christ died for our sins because He was sinless. Rom 5:17-19; Phil 2:8-11; 2 Cor 5:21
  3. Jesus Christ is our only hope to be saved. Rom 5:20-21;1 Tim 2:3-6

III. WE ARE SAVED ONCE WE REPENT AND BELIEVE ON CHRIST

  1. It is the goodness of God that leads one to repentance. Rom 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 11:18; Acts 5:31
  2. We are saved by grace through faith. Eph 2:8, Acts 16:30-31
  3. When that are saved have eternal life. Rom 5:21; John 6:47

I. THE GRACE OF GOD PROVIDED SALVATION

  1. The gospel message is the good news of God’s grace. Titus 2:11, John 1:17
  2. To understand grace, we need to consider who we are without Christ. Psa 51:5, Rom 3:9-10,23; 5:6,10; 6:23
  3. Who we are with Christ. Saved by grace. Eph 2:8, serve by grace. Acts 20:24, James 4:6, Rom 15:15, 1 Cor 3:10, Eph 3:2,7

II. THE GRACE OF GOD IS A GIFT

  1. God’s grace is a gift, nothing owed in return. Eph 2:8
  2. There is no cost to the recipient, great cost to the giver. 2 Cor 8:9
  3. The gift of God’s grace is permanent, ours forever. Eph 4:30
  4. The gift of grace is completely unmerited. 2 Tim 1:9

III. THE GRACE OF GOD ENABLES US

  1. By grace We can approach Him. Titus 2:14, Heb 4:16
  2. By grace We can learn of HIM. Titus 2:12, Mat 11:29
  3. By grace We can serve HIM. Titus 2:15, 1 Cor 15:10

Truth: Jesus is our salvation. Simeon called Jesus the consolation of Israel. Anna called Jesus our redeemer. Has salvation come for you?

I. JESUS IS OUR SALVATION

  1. Salvation is the deliverance, by the grace of God, from eternal punishment for sin. Luke 2:21, Rom 5:9, 1 Thess 5:9
  2. Salvation is available in Jesus alone and is dependent on God alone for provision, assurance, and security. Acts 4:12, 2 Cor 1:22, 1 Peter 1:5
  3. Salvation is granted to those who trust God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. Luke 2:30, Acts 20:21

II. JESUS IS THE CONSOLATION OF ISRAEL

  1. The Consolation means Jesus is the Messiah. Luke 2:25, John 4:25-26
  2. Jesus is the Lord’s Christ. Luke 2:26, 30-32, John 3:16-17
  3. Jesus will lead Israel and the Gentiles to salvation. Luke 2:34-36, Acts 13:47-48, Isa 60:1-3

III. ANNA CALLED JESUS OUR REDEEMER

  1. Sin separates us from God. Isa 59:2, Rom 6:23, Rom 3:23
  2. Anna praised the baby Jesus because He came to redeem us from our sins. John 1:19, Eph 1:7, Heb 9:12-15

  3. Mary was highly favored, blessed among women. Luke 1:27-33, Luke 1:42-45, 1 Cor 15:10
  4. Mary was found with child or over shadowed of the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:34-35, Matt 1:18, 20, 2 Cor 4:7

II. WHY WAS MARY HERE ON THIS EARTH?

  1. Mary was here to give glory to God. Luke 1:36-38, Luke 1:46-47, 1 Cor 10:31, 1 Peter 4:10-11
  2. Mary gave birth to the Son of God. Matt 1:24-25, Eph 2:10
  3. Mary was a mother to Jesus. Luke 2:51, John 19:26-27

III. WHERE WAS MARY GOING?

  1. Mary went to Heaven because she was a believer in Christ. Luke 1:45, 49
  2. All who trust is Jesus will go to Heaven when they die! John 6:47, John 3:16
  3. Those who do not trust in Jesus for salvation will go to hell. Rev 21:8

  1. Everyone is born a sinner and must be born again. John 3:1-7. Rom 3:10,23, Gal 3:22
  2. The saved share the Word of God in the Spirit of God. John 3:7, Matt 28:18, 1 Cor 2:4-5
  3. The saved understand the work of the Spirit in us. John 3:8-13. 1 Cor 2:9-11, Rom 8:16,14, Eph 1:12-14

II. WE SHARE YOU MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS TO BE SAVED

  1. Jesus and the cross must be shared. John 3:14, 1 Cor 1:18, John 12:32
  2. God’s love for the world must be shared. John 3:16,17, Rom 5:8, 1 John 4:9
  3. Jesus as your personal Savoir much be believed. John 3:15, 18, Rom 10:8-13. You must call on the Lord Jesus

III. WE SHARE YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU ARE SAVED

  1. The unsaved are condemned and know it. John 3:18-20. Acts 2:37, Acts 9:5, Psa 116:3
  2. The saved no longer feel condemned and apart from God. John 3:21, Rom 5:1-5, 1 Peter 1:8-9

I. HOW GOD WORKS IN US

  1. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ. 2 Cor 5:17, Rom 8:29
  2. God works in us by His Spirit. Phil 2:13, Eph 4:7, Heb 13:20-21
  3. God prepares us for His work through, His Word, prayer, and suffering. 1 Thess 2:13, Eph 3:20-21, and 1 Peter 4:11-13
  4. Once we are saved God works in us to change the old man into the new man He wants us to be. Eph 4:22-24, Col 3:1

II. HOW GOD WORKS THROUGH US

  1. God works in us through good works that glorify Him. Matt 5:16, Phil 1:20-21, Col 1:10, 2 Tim 3:17
  2. God works through the power of the Holy Spirit to touch lives around us. Phil 2:13, 1 Cor 15:10, 1 Peter 2:12
  3. God has a plan He wants to work in our lives for His glory. 1 Cor 2:9-13′
