3. We get what we want out of life. John 15:7, Psalms 16:11
4. God gets what he wants out of us v.8

Who got what he wanted in life and gave glory to God?

Hebrews 11:17-19

God chooses everyday people to run for His glory.

It’s not what you do, it’s how HE does it through you that brings him glory (Gal. 5:22-25)

LIVING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Galatians 5:13-26

Truth: The Holy Spirit empowers us to serve in love. The Holy Spirit empowers us to overcome the flesh. The Holy Spirit empowers us to produce fruit. Are you living in the Spirit?

I. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO SERVE IN LOVE

1. We are called to liberty. Gal 5:13, Rom 8:1-2,1 John 5:3-4, Gal 4:6
2. We are called to fulfil the law through love. Gal 5:14-15, Rom 13:8-14

II. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO OVERCOME THE FLESH

1. The conflict is the flesh lusting against the spirit. Gal 5:16-17, Rom 7:15,19
2. The conquest comes when we surrender our will to the Holy Spirit. Gal 5:18, Psa 40:8, Heb 10:14-17
3. The crucifixion of the flesh through Christ is our goal. Gal 5:19-20, 24, Gal 2:20, Rom 6:6

III. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO GODLY CHARACTER

1. The Spirit by love produces an attitude of joy and peace. Gal 5:22, John 15:9-10, 11, John 14:27, Phil 4:7
2. The Spirit enables me to be long-suffering (courageous endurance without quitting), to be gentle (kind), and to do good (love in action). Gal 5:22
3. The Spirit will increase my faith, encourage meekness and produce temperance (self-control). Gal 5:22-23
4. If we live in the Spirit we will walk in the Spirit. Gal 5:25-26

ARE YOU LIVING IN THE SPIRIT?

GOD IS WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE

Revelation 5:1-14

Truth: God made us even though He knew we would sin. God redeemed us from our sin. God made us kings and priest. Are you praising Christ our Lord?

I. GOD MADE US EVEN THOUGH HE KNEW WE WOULD SIN

1. God made man sinless. Ecc 7:29, Gen 1:27
2. Man sinned and is unworthy of heaven. Rev 5:1-4. Psa 14:2-3
3. God made a way to take away our sin. Rev 5:5-6, John 1:29

II. GOD REDEEMED US FROM OUR SIN

1. Jesus redeemed us by His blood. Rev 5:7-9, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Col 1: 14
2. Jesus provided the grace. Rom 3:24, Eph 1:6-7. Titus 3:5-7
3. Jesus will save whosoever believes in Him. Rev 5:9, Rom 10:13

III. GOD MADE US HIS A KINGDOM OF PRIEST

1. The church is a kingdom of priest. Rev 5:10, Rom 12:1, 1 Peter 2:5
2. All creatures are to give Christ on His throne glory forever. Rev 5:11-14. Phil 2:9-11

ARE YOU PRAISING CHRIST OUR LORD?

LET US WORSHIP THE LORD

Psalm 107:21-22

Truth: Know God’s goodness toward you. Thank God for His goodness toward you. Share God’s goodness toward you. Let us worship our Lord today!

I. KNOW GOD’S GOODNESS TOWARD YOU

1. God made you His master creation. Psa 139:14, Gen 1:27, Psa 8:6
2. God provides all you need for life. Phil 4:19, Psa 23:1
3. God provided you redemption for sin. Eph 1:3-9

II. THANK GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS TOWARD YOU

1. Thank God for salvation. 1 Tim 1:12-16
2. Thank God for His provision. 1 Thess 5:18, Psa 100:4
3. Thank God for His spiritual blessings. Eph 2:4-6, Psa 134:2

III. SHARE GOD’S GOODNESS TOWARD YOU

1. Tell how the Lord saved you. Psa 107:2
2. Tell how the Lord has blessed you. Psa 34:3-4
3. Tell how the Lord provides for you. Psa 37:25

Truth: Jesus will always pursue us. Jesus will always provide what we need. Jesus will always protect us. Are you depending on the unchanging Christ?

I. JESUS WILL ALWAYS PURSUE US

1. Jesus pursues us because He loves us. Heb 13:1, Rom 5:6-8, John 15:13, Eph 5:2.
2. Jesus pursues us so we will continue in love for each other. 1 John 3:16, John 13:34-35.
3. Jesus pursues us so we will pursue the souls of others. Heb 13:2-3, Luke 14:23.

II. JESUS WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE FOR US

1. Jesus provides family wisdom. Heb 13:4, Matt 19:4-6, Eph 5:25, Col 3:18, Eph 6:1-4
2. Jesus provides earthly provision that we should be content with. Heb 13:5, Luke 12:15, Phil 4:11, Matt 28:20

III. JESUS WILL ALWAYS PROTECT US

1. Jesus provides godly protection. Heb 13:6, Psa 27:1
2. Jesus provides godly leadership. Heb 13:7, Heb 13:17. 1 Peter 5:2-4

ARE YOU DEPENDING ON THE UNCHANGING CHRIST?

Truth: Salvation is by the power of a living Christ. Sanctification is through the power of a living Christ. Serving God is through the power of a living Christ. Are you living in the power of a living Christ?

I. SALVATION IS BY THE POWER OF A LIVING CHRIST

1. Conviction reveals our sin. 2 Cor 7:10, 1 John 3:20.
2. Confession brings God’s mercy. Luke 18:13, Psa 34:18
3. Conversion comes when we believe. Rom 10:10-11, Acts 8:37

II. SANCTIFICATION IS BY THE POWER OF A LIVING CHRIST

1. Committed holy to God. Rom 12:1-2, 1 Peter 3:15, Psa 37:5, Gal 5:16.
2. Connected faithfully to the body of Christ. Matt. 28:19, Eph 4:16

III. SERVING GOD IS BY THE POWER OF A LIVING CHRIST

1. Worship by the power of God. John 4:23-24, 1 Cor 14:24-25, 1 Peter 4:10-11
2. Witness by the power of God. Acts 1:8, Luke 12:11-12.

ARE YOU LIVING IS IN THE POWER OF A LIVING CHRIST?

THE LORD WILL MEET OUR NEEDS

Psalm 23:1-6

Truth: The Lord wants to be our Shepherd. The Lord Our Shepherd is always there for us. Is the Lord your Shepherd?

I. THE LORD WANTS TO BE OUR SHEPHERD

1. The Lord is the Shepherd of the saved and they shall not want. Psa 23:1, John 10:11,14, 2 Tim 2:19, Phil 4:19
2. He leads His people. Psa 23:2-3. John 14:26-27, Psa 119:105
3. He restores our soul. Psa 23:3, Phil 4:7, Isa 26:3
4. His Spirit covers us and fills us. Psa 23:5, Eph 5:18, 1 Cor 2:12

II. THE LORD OUR SHEPHERD IS ALWAYS THERE FOR US

1. He walks with us through fear and even death. Psa 23:4, Psa 139:7-10
2. His rod and staff comfort us. Heb 4:12, Eph 6:17
3. He provides in the mist our trouble. Psa 23:5, Psa 50:15
4. Goodness and mercy follow the people who are His house. Psa 23:6, 1 Cor 3:16, 1 Cor 2: 9-10, 13-16.
